Very Funny

0. Good Day.

1. Great Points:
* Humor. I have always been a fan of your work and lately I have noticed that the humor of your works increase with every work. Very impressive considering Cyanide and Happiness almost always ends up with the characters suffering tantamount disappointment. You manage to keep things fresh and I thank you for that. I especially like the final part of the short.

2. Good Points:
* Voice. The voice work was great. The movement of the mouths matched with the voice perfectly and no ambient noise could be detected.
* Graphics. The simplistic graphics of the Cyanide and Happiness series have always been a highlight for me. Very good vector work.

3. (Not so) Good Points:
* N/A

4. Great job!

0. Hello.

1. Great Points:
* Graphics. Visually appealing. The way the graphics were drawn were masterful, at best.
* Music. Although the sound rarely changed, it was still very pleasing.

2. (Not so) Good Points:
* It was too short. The way it was made, I would clamor for it to go on and on. I liked the twist in the ending though.

3. Great job!

Do I smell a series?

0. Hello.

1. Good Points:
* The concept is nice, the character designs fit the whole setting quite nicely.
* The animation was great, it really suited the entire concept.

2. (Not so) Good Points:
* The music, although it fits nicely with the concept, didn't seem quite right with the flow of the sequence.

3. This could expand to a potentially great series!

4. Good day.

Rather Disappointing...

// START REVIEW

0. Hello...

1. First of all, I just have to say that I'm a really big fan of the earlier Shift series, with Shift 4 on the fringe.

2. Good Points:
* The tongue-in-cheek humor is still there, which is good. I think that the humor is one of the quintessential features of the original series aside from the complexity of the puzzles.
* Complexity. The key feature of the series that has got the people who played them hooked. I'm glad to see that after all the iterations of the game, the puzzle difficulty doesn't seem to deteriorate.

3. (Not so) Good Points:
* Graphics. One of the main draws for me to the Shift series is the minimalist graphics. It had an appeal that seemed to match games that are very graphic-intensive. The black and white scheme, paired with the humor, kept me enthralled even with the growing difficulty of each level. When I first saw the more bloated version in this game, I didn't want to dismiss it early. I even saw it as a positive that the series was taking on another direction but when I got to playing it, the new graphics didn't mix well with the setting. At some point, the graphics may very well be the cause of the game's slow pace, very uncharacteristic for a shit game.

* Slooooooow and Buggy. There were many glitches that I didn't seem to mind because I really wanted to enjoy this game. After Shift 4, I wanted to see Freedom! as a redemption for the entire series but I was disappointed.

4. Sorry...

0. Hello and Merry Christmas.

1. Good Points:
* Overall plot was good. Very grounded to the season. Gives a fresh spin on a Christmas game.
* Graphics. Very nostalgic. The classic, retro feel is a nice touch. Complements the theme very well. Very well executed.

2. (Not so) Good Points:
* Gameplay. The aiming mechanism was very limited. There were only 8 angles to shoot from, there wasn't an "in-between" which causes some frustration especially when an enemy gets close and out range of an angle. Weapon variety was also limited. The upgrades were really a non-factor.
* Replayability. The game, sadly, was not very engaging. It was very easy to play, even to the point of not expending a life even after the 25th level. I only played up to level 25 so that I could get the achievement and hoping that it would be a boss level.

3. Overall, this was a good effort. Just not enough variety for my taste, I guess.

0. Hello.

1. Great Points:
* Gameplay. Very enjoyable. This game really stayed true to its platform roots. The enemies are very well balanced and the battle system is quite engaging. It doesn't feel like a tiresome hack and slash game.
* Music and SFX. Very crisp and pleasing to the ears. Props to the sound guys! Very thematic, the music and sfx are spot on for every situation. One noteworthy exception though is the lightsaber sound. I know that it is a miniscule detail but adding a lightsaber sound could have only helped the game.

2. Good Points:
* Graphics. Well crafted. The graphics of the game are very nice, holding true to the series graphics. The blood was very well mixed and the bosses were very well made. I especially liked the artwork put in to the cameo swords, it really captured the essence of the weapons.

3. (Not so) Good Points:
* Controls. Very minor detail but having read the other reviews, I do agree that a 'shield' option could have been a nice addition especially when one finds oneself in a bit of a situation. Also, a double jump could also be a nice addition.

4. I applaud you guys for the effort you put into this great game, this is certainly not an easy feat to accomplish!

5. Good day and great job!

0. Hello Resoner.

1. Good Points:
* Brilliant piece, the track is very melodic and pleasing to hear.
* Your piano playing is awesome keep on keeping on with that.
* The mix is very well done, the other instruments do not clash with the main piano.
* The background melody is very enchanting, trancing if you will.
* The entrance of the cymbals is ver well-timed.

2. (Not so) Good Points:
* NULL

3. Good day, sir.

0. Hello, sir.

1. Good Points:
* Awesome opening, makes the anticipation for the entire track all the more thrilling.
* Nice mix between the drums and bass, doesn't fail to please anyone who hears this track.
* The bass really pumps hard but it does not devour the drums. Very nice.
* The track would mesh well with anything.

2. (Not so) Good Points:
* The beat, although catchy, is kindof repetetive going to the end.
* I fail to see the relation of the tune to the title.

3. Good day and good job.

0. Hello.

1. Good Points:
* Starts out great.
* The bass and drums really mix well and the piece stays true to its dance roots.
* Nice theme to it, great beat to dance to.
* The ending is pretty great to.
* I applaud you for the "button" sound and the whistle. It fits the track quite nicely and the presence was well-timed.

2. (Not so) Good Points:
* The robot dialogue sequence was a little bit off for me, I kinda feel it's unnecessary and the entire track could do away without it.
* The entire middle part kind of slowed down the pace of the track for me and it kind of threw me off the catchy first part.
* The slow pace at the middle could've been better.

3. Good day, sir.

SkyMarshall responds:

Okay, the robotics need to go - I realize that now. But the entire song is actually built around the fact that I wanted to try out some new vocoding-software. But yes, the song is better without it. I guess I'll look into that. The interlude needs to stay, but it can be done differently to maintain the pacing.

Glad you like it man =) Thanks for the 9 and the review!

0. Hello.

1. Great Points:
* Detail. Simply breathtaking. The detail you put into every single crack and crevice of the armor is simply astounding. Either you put a lot of work into it or you're simply that good of an artist.
* Colors. The blend of colors is very remarkable. Every detail complements each other.

2. (Not so) Good Points:
* Feels flat. Very hard to escape that feeling but upon observation of your other work, this one feels flat to me. I comment this because I know that you can do better.

3. Overall, this is a great showing of talent! Keep on keeping on.

Great Execution

0. Good day.

1. Good Points:
* Props and Costumes. Very well-made. Captures the true essence of Darnell, Pico and Nene. Brings realism to the animation.
* Concept. Very original. I must say, these characters have been around for a long time and yet I have not seen a cosplay photograph of them before. Way to go.

2. (Not so) Good Points:
* Lighting. I understand that the lighting was intentional but it was too overexposed for my taste.
* Background. Too simplistic. Given that the costumes and the props were very well thought of, it would have been nice if the background had been grittier or more suited to the theme of the entire picture.

3. Not to insinuate anything but aren't photographs prohibited (or frowned upon) in the Art Portal? I'm not really familiar with the rules but I think I read that somewhere.

4. Good job though.
